Can you feel Acupuncture?

Some people do ‘feel’ Acupuncture. Most people worry that it might hurt. Few reflect on what happens after the needles are in.

As a practitioner, I am present with each client, their intention for treatment and with their energy. And with what story is being offered in the moment.

Sometimes I see the needles like little swords, moving the blocks to energy. Or I see them like antennae, signalling to the body to remember how to function more efficiently.

When the needles are inserted, they connect with the body’s energy network. This network runs like rivers through the body. these rivers are interconnected with each other and with the organs and systems in the body.

Sometimes people have ‘funny feelings’ or sensations. They may experience the movement of energy along the meridian pathway or at a particular acupuncture point. Some feel nothing at all. It can be an emotional experience to feel energy in your body.

During your acupuncture treatment you may become aware of sensations in your hands, your feet, your belly and you may not. A common experience is a loud, rumbling tummy when the energy starts moving.
